Slugs got you down? Come learn the most Earth-friendly ways to deal with common pests in the veggie garden. Emphasis on companion planting, attracting beneficial insects, and biological controls. Includes an introduction to natural pesticides.

Successful Summer Veggie Gardens
A good introduction to gardening during the warm summer season. Participants will receive tips for preparing, planting, and maintaining the garden as well as a planting calendar for our climate. In addition, we’ll discuss organic pest and disease control and companion planting for maximum yields. Then, start some heirloom seeds to take to your own garden!

Planning and Planting a Spring Veggie Garden
A good introduction to veggie gardening. Siting and sizing the garden, amending the soil, planning crops based on our climate, planting veggies by seed or starts, maintenance tasks, and preparing for the summer garden. Hands-on activity of planting a spring garden.
